Grand Uzbek Dancer, ballet master and teacher Mukarama Turgunbayeva was born in 1913 in Fergana. After completion Fergana college in 1929, by supporting of Muhiddin Kari Yakubov she was admitted for the job at assistant group of Samarkand State musical theatre and took part in musical performance.
In 1932 -1933 under the direction of Usta Olim Kamilov and Tamarakhonim she has prepared series of the motion for uzbek dance. In 1937 she has represented the dance “ Pakhta”(cotton) individual herself. In 1937 she has staged dances for musical drama theatre “Gulsara”.
From 1939 M.Turgunbayeva started to work at Uzbekistan State academic theatre named after Alisher Navaiy and she learned secrets of this art from some of masters ballet. In partnership with Olim Kamilov and A.Tomskiy she put the ballet “Shokhida” of F. Tal in scene.
Mukarama Turgunbayeva danced that “Tanovar”, “Zang”, “Katta raqs”, “Munojat”, “Pilla”, “Andijan polkasi”, “Khumor”, “Jonon”, “Farg’ona ruboisiy”, “Ko’zlaringni yashirma”, “Zor etding”, as well as more than 200 fascinating dances were joined to Uzbek art and culture’s golden treasure by supporting of Turgunbayeva.
In 1955 Dancer organized the group of dancers that consist of students of Tashkent choreographic institute, in 1957 ensemble “Bakhor” was created on the base of that group. Her activity was chief ballet master of ensemble “Bakhor” together artistic leader in theatre Alisher Navaiy, in 1957 Ensemble participated to international festival of World youth and students, in 1971 she has got “Golden prize” in XIII international festival that was held in city Leyptsige. State dance ensemble “Bakhor” has been in many country along the World and represented the pearl-art of Uzbek dance.
Mukarama Turgunbayeva was ballet master, teacher and dancer, from 1947 she began to teach at Tashkent choreographic school for along time. During those years she educated many talented dancers and Mamura Ergashova, Ra’no Nizomova, Valintina Romanova, Tamara Yunusova, Ravshana Sharipova, Nasiba and Ziyoda Madrahimova were considered her suitable pupils.
Mukarama Turgunbayeva has got different type of prizes that orders and medals:The title “Public actress of Uzbekistan”, and State prizes(1946, 1951, 1967, 1973) period independence years she was valued with order “Buyuk xizmatlari uchun”.
In 1978 Grand master of art Mukarama Turgunbayeva died in Tashkent.
